Is This GCSE Maths Tuition Right for Your Child?

My online GCSE Maths tuition is designed for Year 9, Year 10 and Year 11 students who want to develop their mathematical ability, improve their examination performance and achieve the best grades they can.

Tuition may be particularly suitable if your child:

  • Is working towards GCSE Maths Grades 5–9.
  • Wants to improve their current grade through structured, regular support.
  • Understands topics in class but sometimes loses marks in tests or examinations.
  • Is studying Higher Tier Maths and wants to develop greater confidence with more demanding questions.
  • Is already performing well but wants to work towards a Grade 8 or 9.
  • Would benefit from individual attention, regular homework and a clear approach to GCSE preparation.

My approach is based on consistent progress rather than last-minute examination preparation.

By identifying areas that need strengthening, developing mathematical understanding and practising GCSE-style questions, I help students build the knowledge and skills needed to approach their examinations with greater confidence.

How the Online GCSE Maths Tuition Works

Individual, Weekly Lessons

Students normally attend one 55-minute online lesson each week. Lessons are tailored to their current ability, areas requiring improvement and GCSE targets.

Building Understanding and Confidence

Each lesson combines explanations, worked examples and opportunities for students to practise applying what they’ve learned. We revisit earlier topics where necessary to strengthen understanding and reinforce important maths skills.

Homework and Regular Practice

Homework is set to consolidate what students have learned during their lessons, reinforce important skills and identify areas that may need further attention.

Developing Examination Technique

From Year 10 onwards, I encourage students to complete 20–30 minutes of GCSE Maths questions each day, covering topics across the syllabus to strengthen their knowledge, improve retention and develop problem-solving skills. We also use predicted GCSE Maths papers as part of our examination preparation.

Keeping Parents Informed

Parents have access to an online tutoring management system where they can review lesson notes, homework and information about their child’s progress.

Convenient and Flexible Online Tuition

All lessons take place online using an interactive teaching workspace. Students in East Dulwich and surrounding areas can receive regular, individual support from home without travelling to a tutoring centre.

Online tuition also provides flexibility when families are away from home. Students can continue their lessons while visiting relatives outside London or even while abroad on a family holiday, provided they have a suitable device, a reliable internet connection and a quiet place to study.
